OCBOR Professional Development Objective:
It is the Ocean City Board of REALTORS® Education and Professional Development Strategic Objective to provide an opportunity for our members to develop their professional skills, proficiency, and knowledge to gain a competitive edge in the real estate business through a wide range of educational programs and services, delivered through "state of the art" technology and innovative training methods.
Continuing Education Information:
ALL licensed Brokers, Broker Salespersons and Salespersons in New Jersey are required by the NJ Real Estate Commission to complete 12 hours of Continuing Education (CE) every licensing cycle. If you are a Broker of Record, Broker Salesperson or Salesperson licensee in a Referral Company you are not exempt from completing Continuing Education.
The Requirements are as follows:
Four (4) hours in Core topics (Mandatory)
Two (2) hours in Ethics topics (Mandatory)
Six (6) remaining hours in Elective, Core or Ethics topics, 1 CE credit in Fair Housing Laws
One (1) credit course in Fair Housing is required.

PLEASE NOTE: The new licensing cycle started on 7/1/2021 and will end on 6/30/2023. A new licensee who is licensed on or after 7/1/2022 will be exempt from the mandated continuing education requirement for this licensing cycle ending on 6/30/2023. CE courses must be completed by April 30, 2023 to avoid a late penalty.
NJ REC Licensing and Education Info:
The New Jersey Real Estate Commission (REC) issues licenses to real estate brokers and salespersons, real estate schools, and course instructors, as well as establishes standards of practice for the real estate brokerage profession.
The law in New Jersey requires all applicants for licensure as a real estate salesperson or broker to possess good character, trustworthiness, honesty and integrity.
